Projects

Aztec Black Pottery Project

Research on a small group of 13th-century C.E. black smudged and polished vessels from Aztec Ruins National Monument. Research has included analysis of pots at the AMNH and in NPS collections, as well as tribal outreach.

Sourcing Obsidian at Aztec Pueblo

This project grew out of my interest in the obsidian we found at Aztec North. My collaborators and I are now sourcing and analyzing obsidian from three Ancestral Puebloan great houses, representing a chronology of changing sources over 300 years.

Wallace Great House Assemblage Project

Analysis of pottery and other artifacts from the Wallace great house near Cortez, Colorado. The analysis is complete, but publications are still in progress.

The Aztec North Archaeological Project

Excavation at Aztec North, an Ancestral Puebloan great house at Aztec Ruins National Monument in New Mexico.
